Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the Amero! The hopeful new currency for Canada, the United States, and Mexico. It has been rather 'under the table' for something as important as a new currency, if you ask me. |

From what I see, it is underlined. A little double-underlining never hurt, though. |

If you are concerned about how the three countries economies would tie together, albeit there might be some unseeable hinderances, I believe that there would not be many problems to deal with. As with Mexico, think about it, what has Canada have that Mexico is lacking? One of the main reasons for it's general poverty is because a nation that has just enough wealth makes for the perfect production zone and marketplace. Now, this would change if the Amero is put in place, as an impoverished Mexico would drag down the economies of it's new partners as well. Now, if this currency is put in place, I forsee a change in Mexico's status as a nation, and a movement towards more global connection. As for Canada, I see little to no problems with a single currency, as it would only simplify trade between the US and Canada. Hopefully humans will realize that we have better things to do than to fight politically, economically, and violently and seperate entities, and join together as one society. Unfortunately, humans are not quite ready for that right now, but this would be a step forward, the next step would be a global currency. |

It would hurt America the most, so I doubt it would occur. |

I don't know...the dollar is already hurting everywhere else. This might actually strengthen it but I'm not sure. |

One thing is for sure, that trade between the three countries would strenghten and become more fluid. Which is one possible advantage of this currency. Especially since Canada and Mexico are the United States largest trading partners. |

Very true, plus it would be just one more step to forming a world-wide currency :] |

We are still quite a ways away from that. I believe that the human race with have to do a little 'growing up' before that happens. |

I've already seen this and so far the only negative responses to it by people from both Canada and America was that they didn't want to "become one" with the other. Neither economy is doing to good and the only real problem I see with it is it's pretty much spreading America's debt over Canada and Mexico as well. Putting us in a better spot than we currently are. |
